Famous Kin of Coleman Adam Sater

Coleman Adam Sater is a great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-grandson of the Reverand Richard Denton (born 1603 in Yorkshire England. Founder of the first Presbyterian Church in the New World.).

Coleman Adam Sater is a second cousin removed eight times of U. S. President, Zachary Taylor (because Coleman is a great-great-great-great-great-great-grandson of his second cousin, John Taylor).

Coleman Adam Sater is a great-great-great-great-great-great-grand-nephew of John Denton, who was listed as a resident at Ruddle's Fort, Kentucky, at the time of the 1780 attack by the British and Native America warriers. This is because Coleman is a great-great-great-great-great-great-grandson of this John Denton's brother, Thomas Denton.

Similarly, Coleman Adam Sater's great-great-great-great-great-great-great-grandmother, Catherine "Katie" Eddleman was at this Fort and taken captive, along with her sons John and Daniel, according to family legend, and we know that she later married John Burger, who was listed as a resident of Ruddles Fort at the time of the massacre. (It is possible that even more ancestral and/or collaterol relatives were at the massacre, because Zumwalt, Morris and Williams individuals were present, and those are also some of our early Kentuckiana ancestral surnames.)

Coleman Adam Sater is a great-great-great-great-grand-nephew to the husband of President Abraham Lincoln's first cousin. This is because Coleman is the great-great-great-great-grandson of Allen Denton, whose brother, Isom Denton, married Elizabeth Lincoln, the President's first cousin.

Coleman Adam Sater is seventh-cousin removed four times of Col. Elmer Ephraim Ellsworth, who was the first publicized casualty of the U. S. Civil War when he was shot trying to remove a rebel flag in Virginia. This Col. Ellsworth was a close personal friend of President Abraham Lincoln, and the President sobbed upon learning of Col. Ellsworth's death and hosted Col. Ellsworth's funeral in the East Room of the White House. Coleman's granduncle Mark's and great-grandfather Harold's middle name, "Ellsworth," was passed down through our Hickman and Denton families in honor of Col. Ellsworth. (See our Web site on Col. Coleman Adam Sater is first cousin removed twelve times of William PENN (because Coleman is a great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-granddaughter of Lawrence ROUTH (born 1660 in Hawes, Yorkshire, England), who was first cousin of William Penn.)

Coleman Adam Sater is great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-grandson of Henry Sater, Benefactor and Founder of the first Baptist Church to be built in Maryland. That Church was built in 1716 and remains open with historical site designation. Biographical book about this Henry Sater's Life is available in the Indiana State Library and the Library of Congress.

Coleman Adam Sater is great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-grandson of Catherine (Allen) Towson of London, who herself was a descendant of Oliver Cromwell, Protector of the Throne in England for nine years (1649 to 1658) after the beheading of King Charles I. (The above-named Catherine was mother to Dorcus Ossage (Towson) Sater, spouse of the above-listed Henry Sater.)

As with many family lines, our Routh family line are said to be traced back to Charlemagne and King Pepys of Italy (per Routh documents in the Indiana State Library).

S. Census. Also... the Hickman family had several "George" Hickmans and they did have a tendancy to name children after other family members. Of particular interest is that Issac Hickman's oldest son named his first child, George Hickman, which would not be an uncommon tribute to a grandfather.)
